Iredell Museums will celebrate its grand re-opening on Friday, September 24, during Downtown Statesville’s Fall Art Crawl.
The public is invited to drop in between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. to get reacquainted with the museum and its attractions.
The museum has been closed to the public for over a year. The staff and board are excited to welcome back visitors with a variety of exhibits highlighting artifacts from the museum's permanent collection, including an ancient Egyptian mummy, projectile points found around Iredell County that are thousands of years old, an exhibit about the archaeological history of Fort Dobbs, and more.
The grand re-opening will be a free event featuring light refreshments. Masks will be required for all visitors over the age of 5.
After the reopening, Iredell Museums will be open to the public starting Saturday, September 25. The hours are Thursdays-Fridays 10 a.m to 3 p.m. and Saturdays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission will be $5 for all visitors over the age of 2 and masks will be required for all visitors over the age of 5. Admission will remain free for museum members.
