Stop the Violence Cookout

August 24, 2024

WHEREAS, the Stop the Violence Cookout was founded in 2014 as a grassroots initiative dedicated to fostering unity and safety within our community, with the goal of making Statesville a safer place to live, work, and play; and

WHEREAS, this annual event has grown significantly through the hard work and dedication of its organizers, who have inspired others to join in their vision, including members of the fait community, local businesses, law enforcement, and various community organizations; and

WHEREAS, the Stop the Violence Cookout serves as an important celebration of non-violence, emphasizing the crucial importance of safety awareness and education in maintaining a peaceful community; and

WHEREAS, the City of Statesville is honored to co-sponsor the Stop the Violence Cookout, recognizing the event's significant impact on fostering a sense of togetherness and commitment to non-violence in our community;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Constantine H. Kutteh, Mayor of the City of Statesville, do hereby proclaim our support and recognition of the 2024 STOP THE VIOLENCE COOKOUT, to be held on August 24, 2024, at Alex Cooper Park from 11:00am to 04:00pm, and encourage all citizens to participate in this meaningful event and continue to work together in promoting peace, safety, and unity throughout our city. 

IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have set my Hand and caused the Great Seal of the City of Statesville to be affixed this 19th day of August 2024.
